TV Clearances for Liberty at Charleston Southern Announced
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Big South Conference football television coverage on the new "College Football Down South" network of regional television station concludes Saturday, Nov. 18 with Charleston Southern hosting Liberty at 12:00pm ET. Mark Bryant (play-by-play) and Will Merritt (analyst) have the call from CSU Stadium. Liberty leads the series, 19-5, but the Buccaneers have won the last three meetings.
The Flames (6-4, 2-2 Big South) are playing their final Big South football game on Saturday, and has won 55 of its 77 Big South appearances. Liberty is seeking its first win over Charleston Southern since 2014, which was the last time the team won seven games. QB Stephen Calvert enters the game with a chance to become the Big South's single-season record holder for passing yards and touchdown passes.
Charleston Southern (5-5, 2-2 Big South) can post its fifth consecutive winning season with a win Saturday, as well as their sixth-straight league slate at or above .500. CSU is looking to avoid back-to-back home losses for the first time since 2011. DE Anthony Ellis enters the game with a chance to become the first Big South player to finish with 50.0 career TFL and 25.0 career sacks.
