No. 3 Longwood Upsets No. 2 Liberty, Advances to Title Match
For the first time in program history, Longwood women's soccer will play for a Big South Championship.
The No. 3 seed Lancers (13-4-3) upset No. 2 seed Liberty 2-0 in the semifinals of the 2017 Big South Championship Friday night at Bryan Park, setting up a championship showdown against No. 1 seed High Point Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m.

Taylor Alvey engineered Longwood's 11th shutout of the season, two of which have come against Liberty.
Longwood women's soccer will become the fourth Longwood team to play for a Big South Championship, joining four-time league champion softball and past championship game participants women's basketball (2015) and men's soccer (2016).
Friday's victory also extends Longwood's unbeaten streak to a Division I-record 10 games and also matches the program's all-time Division I wins record.
