Big South Announces Men's Golfers of the Week - Oct. 18
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Presbyterian College senior Weston Sanders (Greenwood, S.C.) has been named the Big South Men’s Golfer of the Week, while High Point’s Brandon Einstein (Clemmons, N.C.) is the Freshman of the Week for events played Oct. 11-17, it was announced today.
Sanders posted his first collegiate Top 10 finish with a 6-under 207 (71-67-69) to tie for fifth at the Elon Phoenix Invitational (par 71, 6,867 yards). His second round 67 tied for the low of the round, and he led the tournament with 44 pars. Sanders recorded personal-bests for 18 holes (-4) and 54 holes (-6) and helped PC tie for fourth in the 16-team field.
Einstein tied as the runner-up at the Elon Phoenix Invitational with a 9-under 204 (70-67-67), one stroke off the medalist. He was the top player in par 4 scoring (3.88), while his 67 in both the second and final rounds was his best 18-hole score of the season. Einstein posted the third-most birdies in the tournament with 15.
