Big South Announces Men's Golfers of the Week - Nov. 8
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – USC Upstate senior Matt Carter (Easley, S.C.) has been named the Big South Men’s Golfer of the Week, while High Point’s Brandon Einstein (Clemmons, N.C.) is the Freshman of the Week for events played the final week of the fall season, it was announced today.
Carter placed fourth at the East Bay Deli Classic @ Kiawah (par 72, 6,911 yards) with a 5-under 211 (71-71-69). He led the 117-player field in par-3 scoring (-3) and tied for second with 14 birdies. Carter’s performance was the highest among the 45 Big South competitors in the event, and helped the Spartans to a fourth-place team finish out of 21 teams.
Einstein tied for eighth at the East Bay Deli Classic at Kiawah with a 1-over 217 (75-74-68). He improved each round of the tournament, and his final round of 4-under featured six birdies. Einstein finished as the Panthers’ top scorer, and his 13 birdies were the third-most in the event.
