UNC Asheville Wins Opening Match over Hampton, 4-0
RADFORD, Va. – The seventh seeded UNC Asheville women's tennis team defeated tenth seeded Hampton, 4-0. in the first round of the Big South Conference Women's Tennis Championships on Tuesday afternoon. It was the second time this season that the Bulldogs have shutout the Pirates.

In doubles, the senior duo of Hannah Francisco and Kylee Shipley shut out their opponents at No. 3 with a 6-0 victory. The All-Conference doubles duo of Lize Alet Morkel and Taylor Love secured the doubles point for UNC Asheville with a 6-4 win at No. 1. The match at No. 2 was left unfinished.
UNC Asheville grabbed three quick singles matches to win the match 4-0.
Taylor Love defeated Viktoria Ljungman 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4. Lauren Watson-Steele dominated the match at No. 5 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory, while Kylee Shipley won the match at No. 6 by a score of 6-1, 6-1.
Next UNC Asheville will face the No. 2 seeded Presbyterian in the quarterfinals of the championship on Wednesday, April 17 at 12 p.m.
