Radford Downs No. 3 Gardner-Webb, 4-2 for Semifinal Berth
RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's tennis team upset No. 3 Gardner-Webb in Big South Quarterfinal action on Wednesday afternoon at the Big South Championship held at the Radford Tennis Complex.

With the match all tied at two, the Highlanders were searching for the final two points. Anastasia Belyaeva gave the Highlanders a 3-2 lead with a third set victory. The sophomore fell in the first set but bounced back to win the final two.
It all came down to Dzeubou on court 1 and Falk on court 3. Falk was tied 5-5 in the third set with Valentine Limauge. She won the final two points of the set and clinched the match for the Highlanders, giving them their first Big South Championship victory since 2016.
The match opened with Radford taking a hard-fought doubles point, in large part by Tyler Blalock and Dzeubou clinching the point. That gave Radford a 1-0 lead.
Blalock continued her strong run in singles play with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Mayumi Saguchi on court 4. The Runnin' Bulldogs tied the match at two when they claimed courts 5 and 6.
The final four matches went into a third set and Radford came out on top in two of them, while one went unfinished.

Radford picked up its first win in the Big South Championship since 2016 and will make its first semifinal appearance since 2012.
