UNC Asheville Edges Longwood, 4-3, Advances to Semifinals
RADFORD, Va. – Third-seeded UNC Asheville men's tennis battled back to pick up a thrilling 4-3 Big South Tournament quarterfinal victory over sixth-seeded Longwood on Thursday, April 18, 2019.

The match opened with Longwood (13-9) securing the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles over UNC Asheville (20-4).
The Bulldogs would battle back in singles by winning at No. 3-6 singles to capture the hard-fought 4-3 victory to advance to the semifinals where they will face off against second-seeded Campbell.
Leo Bierbaum collected the first win of the day for UNC Asheville at No. 5 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Longwood's Marc Casasnovas. Olly Cull shortly thereafter captured a 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 win over Longwood's Raisei Sakai at No. 4 singles.
Quinn Fender then won 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6 singles over Longwood's Rosen Naydenov to tie things up in the match at 3-3.
UNC Asheville's Charlie Morkel was up to the challenge at No. 3 singles with his win over Longwood's Guillermo Cagigas garnering the Bulldogs the thrilling 4-3 win in the match.
