RADFORD, Va. – For the second time in program history, the Radford women's tennis team will appear in the Big South Championship Final after defeating No. 7 UNC Asheville, 4-1, in the semifinals of the conference's postseason tournament on Thursday. Radford won the tournament championship in 1990 as they defeated Charleston Southern.

Tyler Blalock has had a fantastic Big South Championship run so far and it continued on Thursday. She began the evening by picking up the first Highlander win of the night, along with Drousile Dzeubou. Together, the duo picked up a doubles win on court 1. Then the sophomore picked up a set one victory on court 4 in singles.

She faltered a bit in set two falling 6-2 but ultimately gave Radford a match clinching victory with a 6-4 final set win. It was the Highlander's second Big South Championship Semifinal win in program history. Blalock didn't do it alone as Malin Falk and Katey Fruehauf clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 victory on court 2.

Fruehauf continued her strong play in singles competition with a two-set victory on court 6, which gave Radford a 2-0 lead. Lize Alet Morkel took court 1 over Anastasia Belyaeva, which cut the Highlander lead in half.

Dzeubou gave the Highlanders some breathing room with a two-set victory on court 2. The Highlanders needed one point to clinch the match and it came when Blalock won her court.
