To kick off the 2022 Olympic quad, USA Bobsled & Skeleton is speaking with a potential 2022 Olympic or Paralympic athlete to get to know more about their careers, personalities and outside interests.  Former Gardner-Webb track & field athlete Kristen Hurley is competing for a spot in the skeleton.  Her past success includes two medals at the North American Cup tour and third overall in the tour’s rankings. A former national team bobsledder, Hurley made the switch to skeleton several years ago.

Thumbs up for making it down alive!! ???????????????????????? Kristen’s Tips for Sigulda (based on my first 30 hours in Latvia) 1. Take the last flight in to Riga, Latvia that lands at 1am. 2. Get lost looking for your rental car. Arrive at your apartment at 3am. 3. Sleep for 3 hours, wake up and walk the track by yourself (you’ll figure it out... it can’t be too hard, right?) 4. Show up for your 9am training session at 8:52 because you thought it was at 10... oh you’re the very first slider on the list? Eh, you’ll be fine. 5. Hit everything in sight. It’ll make 11 and 13 a lot easier ?? 6. Now that you’ve hit every wall possible, you’re going to need some cushioning to protect your body from further damage. Go to Mister Biskvits and get cinnamon rolls. Eat all of them. 7. If steps 1-5 fail you... skip them and go straight to step 6. #sigulda #latvia #skeletonsport @ibsfsliding #europacup #travel #explore #athlete
