CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Presbyterian College junior midfielder/attacker Sarah Marshall (Atlanta, Ga.) has been named the Big South Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while freshman teammate Abby Edmisten (Milton, Ga.) is the Defensive Player of the Week for matches played between Feb. 10-16, it was announced today.  In addition, Campbell midfielder Julianna Sanchez (Annapolis, Md.) was named the Freshman of the Week.

Marshall recorded a hat trick, capped off by an overtime game-winning goal, in Presbyterian’s 10-9 home victory over Akron last Friday.  In addition to the three-goal effort, the junior added an assist to lead the Blue Hose attack.  She closed the contest with a pair of draw control wins and placed four shots on target.

Edmisten anchored the Presbyterian midfield with five ground balls and three caused turnovers in the 10-9 overtime win over Akron on Friday.  The freshman and the Blue Hose defense held the Zips scoreless for the final 10 minutes of regulation to help force overtime.

Sanchez totaled nine goals in Campbell’s two non-conference matchups last week.  On Wednesday, the redshirt-freshman paced the team with five goals and won eight draw controls in a one-goal home setback to Coastal Carolina.  She followed the performance with four goals and won three draw controls in a home loss to Mercer on Sunday.
