Big South Announces Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week - Oct. 12
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Winthrop’s Olivia Kemp (St. Augustine, Fla.) has been named the Big South Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, while Gardner-Webb’s Jessica Perriello (Alpharetta, Ga.) earned the Women’s Freshman Runner of the Week honor for meets ran the week of Oct. 6-9, it was announced today.
Kemp turned in the fastest time by a Winthrop freshman since 2016 as she crossed the finish line at the Royals Cross Country Challenge in 18:38.2. She finished 33rd in her first collegiate 5k race.
Perriello led Gardner-Webb at the Royals Cross Country Challenge with a time of 19:04.8, which placed her 56th overall out of 271 runners in the meet.
