Big South Announces Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week - Oct. 19
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – High Point’s Lindsey Ickes (Winston-Salem, N.C.) has been named the Big South Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, while Radford’s Sophie Magson (Essex, London) earned the Women’s Freshman Runner of the Week honor for meets ran the week of Oct. 12-16, it was announced today.
Ickes was the champion of the VertCross Invitational last Friday, as she finished first with a career-best 20:39.2 in the 6K race. She won by 12 seconds and led the Panthers to the team title.
Magson posted a time of 22:01.0 at the Roanoke XC Invitational and finished fourth in the 6K race. She helped the Highlanders win the 15-team meet as Radford swept the top eight spots on the individual leaderboard.
