Big South Men's Soccer Recap - Oct. 7
The Big South's top three men's soccer teams maintained their hold of the top three spots in the standings with victories on Saturday. Winthrop downed Radford at home, while High Point picked up a shutout at Longwood. Presbyterian claimed a road win at USC Upstate.

Behind two goals from Damorney Hutchinson and goals from Sandro Rabarivony and Carson Griffith the Presbyterian Blue Hose collected a 4-2 road win at the USC Upstate Spartans to remain undefeated in the Big South. In the 50th minute, Hutchinson was fouled in the box giving the Blue Hose a penalty kick. Hutchinson converted on the penalty kick giving the Blue Hose a lead they wouldn't relinquish. In the 54th minute, Hutchinson again was fouled in the box leading to a penalty kick. Griffith converted on his fourth penalty kick goal of the season pushing PC in front, 3-1.

Ricardo Ferreira's goal in the 69th minute lifted Winthrop men's soccer to a 1-0 victory over Radford, Saturday afternoon on Eagle Field. Nick Guido was set free into space down the left side, entered the box and cracked a shot on frame that was saved by Eydelman but the rebound squirted behind him and across the goal mouth as Ferreira tapped it across the line for the goal.

The High Point University men's soccer team secured their third conference win in a 4-0 victory over Longwood Saturday night. It all began in the 15th minute allowing Seth Antwi to net his first of the regular season and open the scoring for the Panthers. Antwi intercepted a pass from the Lancers at the top of the box. He took control of the ball and fired his shot with an open right lane past a diving keeper. HPU took an early lead.
