NEW YORK - High Point University's Jefferson Amaya, a sophomore midfielder from Charlotte, N.C., has been invited to participate in the MLS College Showcase.

Major League Soccer announced the 44 invitees for the Adidas MLS College Showcase, which will take place from December 6-9 in Phoenix, Ariz. The four-day event will give technical staffs from every MLS club an opportunity to scout top collegiate prospects in the nation ahead of MLS SuperDraft 2024 presented by Adidas, which will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 19, and feature an expanded eligible player pool. Please note that the list of attendees is subject to change prior to the event.

Amaya will take his talents to Phoenix, Ariz., as he will get the chance to perform in front of MLS scouts from around the country.

Amaya was a key part of the Panthers offense. He has started all 18 games he played this season, scoring five goals with six assists. Amaya helped the team to all their conference wins with four Big South Conference goals and four assists. He led the Big South in conference game points (12) and was a two-time Big South Offensive Player of the Week winner and the Big South Offensive Player of the Year. Amaya was named #96 on the TopDrawerSoccer Midseason Top-100 Player list. Prior to his sophomore season, Amaya was listed to the preseason all-conference team.
