USC Upstate continued its strong start to conference play with a 7-2 victory over Winthrop Friday at Cleveland S. Harley Park.  Behind a three-run eighth inning along with three scoreless frames from senior Tanner Smith, Presbyterian earned a 5-3 series opening win over UNC Asheville on Friday night at Greenwood Field.  Longwood won the opening game of a three-game set with High Point, 7-4.  Gardner-Webb jumped out to an early lead en route to a 14-4 win over Radford Friday night.  No. 15 Campbell earned a 7-2 win over Charleston Southern on the night the school retired Jim Perry's No. 31, the first number to be retired by the program.
