High Point Pole Vaulters Sydney Horn and Rachel Vesper Qualify for National Meet

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- High Point pole vaulters Sydney Horn and Rachel Vesper qualified for their second National Championship meet this season in the pole vault on Thursday night. Horn and Vesper will compete in Austin at the University of Texas from June 7-11.
Horn led four Panther vaulters, one of just seven competitors to clear 4.22m and doing so on her first attempt. Vesper cleared the precious bar (4.12m) on her first attempt which gave her the edge over several others still in the hunt for a trip to Austin.
Mackenzie Horn and Anjali Mead both cleared 3.97m in the event as well to finish in the top-35.
Lindsay Cooper and Dae'Nitra Hester also ran on Thursday. Cooper finished in both the 100m hurdles (13.67s) and the 400m hurdles (1:03.23) while Hester ran 55.89 seconds in the 400m dash.
