Big South Announces Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - May 3
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions this past weekend of April 27-30.
Campbell’s
Dorcus Ewoi (Kitale, Kenya) was selected as the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while High Point’s
Sydney Horn (Lancaster, Pa.) earned Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honors. HPU’s
Anjali Mead (Richmond, Va.) is the Women’s Freshman of the Week.
Ewoi ran a season-best time of 2:03.51 in the 800m at the UNF East Coast Relays, which placed her second in the event. Her time ranks first in the Big South this season and 17th nationally.
Horn finished second in the pole vault at the Texas Invitational, and was the top collegiate finisher with a height of 4.20m.
Mead also competed in the pole vault at the Texas Invitational and tied for fifth with a mark of 3.90m.
