RALEIGH, N.C. – Graduate student Sarah Kahn completed her first-ever postseason round at the NCAA Regional, representing High Point women's golf as an individual on May 8th. She finished the round tied for ninth overall after carding a one-under par 71.

Kahn opened the day on the back nine with a strong start. Scoring two back-to-back birdies on her first two holes, Kahn set out with a two-under par stretch. Remaining consistent even after the turn, she carded nine straight even pars. Hole No. 3 gave her some trouble, the par 5, 526-yard shot ended with her first bogey, dropping her to one-under. Nevertheless, Kahn made up for it with a birdie on the next hole to counter it and bring her back to two-under but a bogey on hole No. 5 brought her back to 1-under. A solid finish with four straight pars on the final four holes landed her an overall tie for ninth place.

Of the six individuals competing, Kahn finished behind Chattanooga's Dorota Zalewska by two strokes, who finished in a two-way tie for 3rd out of 66 total golfers. Alongside Kahn as an individual was UNCW's Mallory Fobes who also shot a one-under par for ninth place.

As for the team's competing, the top three teams all finished within one stroke of each other. N.C. State leads the way with a score of six-under par 282, Florida State trails by one stroke with a five-under par 283 and Arizona State slides in at third with a four-under par 284.

Round two will take place on Tuesday, May 9th beginning at 8:00 am. Kahn is set to tee off at 8:55 am.
