High Point's Sydney Horn Named Academic All-American

The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2022-23 Academic All-America® Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams on Wednesday, June 28, naming High Point's
Sydney Horn to the list. Horn was named to the third team Academic All-America for her efforts on the field and in the classroom.
Horn rounded out her 2022-23 season with a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Austin, Texas, earning her fifth first team All-American honor since becoming a Panther. The fifth-place finish recorded the program's highest individual finish at an NCAA Championship.
Most recently Horn competed unattached at the 2023 Pole Vault Championships in Washington D.C. on June 24th, where she finished sixth with a height of 4.22m.
Adding to the trophy case, Horn finished the 2022-23 season collecting first and second team All-American honors, seven first place medals, is now a three-time Big South Female Field Athlete of the Year, and set a new program record with a personal best of 4.50m.
Horn is majoring in special education with a 3.62 cumulative GPA.
