Big South Announces Men's Cross Country Runners of the Week - Sept. 6

Daren Hinds (Summerville, S.C.) has been selected the Big South Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, while UNC Asheville’s
Jonas Roach (Blacksburg, Va.) is the Men’s Freshman Runner of the Week for meets ran the opening weekend of the 2023 season, it was announced today.
Hinds finished 16th out of 146 runners at the Elon Twilight Open with a 6k time of 18:07.2. He set a PR and shattered his previous time in the event by more than a minute (19:24.4 in 2021). Hinds helped the Eagles to a fifth-place team finish.
In his collegiate debut, Roach finished 16th at the Young Harris XC Opener with a 6k time of 19:06.03. He scored points as the Bulldogs’ fifth-best runner, and helped Asheville finish first in the team standings.
