Big South Announces Women's Golfers of the Week - Oct. 17

Abigail Sheldon (Boca Raton, Fla.) has been named the Big South Women’s Golfer of the Week, while High Point’s
Anais Arafi (Birsfelden, Switzerland) is the Women’s Freshman of the Week honoree for events played Oct. 10-16, it was announced today.
Sheldon tied for ninth at the Edisto Island Invitational (par 71, 5,980 yards) with a 6-over 219 (69-76-74). It was her first career Top 10 finish, and her opening 69 was a collegiate-low. Sheldon was the top finisher among the 20 Big South participants, and she had nine total birdies -- including four each in the first and final rounds.
Arafi led High Point at The Southern 2024 (par 72, 6,036 yards) as she tied for 13th with a 10-over 226 (79-72-75). She recorded an eagle on the par-5, 498-yard No. 12 hole during her opening round, and concluded the weekend with 11 total birdies to help the Panthers place fourth in the 13-team event.
