Sophomore defender Max Fisher posted what would be the game-winning goal in the 79th minute while the Gardner-Webb University men's soccer team remained unbeaten in conference play with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Longwood on Saturday evening. The Runnin' Bulldogs dominated Longwood on the night as they held a wide 31-9 margin on shots, including 13-3 shots on goal. Gardner-Webb was also able to create nine corner kicks compared to just four for the Lancers.

Upstate Men's Soccer was on the road again, making the short trip to Presbyterian College. The Spartans put up just seven shots but pulled out the 2-1 victory against the Blue Hose. The Spartans got on the board first, just six minutes into play off a penalty kick goal scored by Adrian Panaite. Upstate held the advantage for the next 20 minutes of play, until the Blue Hose capitalized on a penalty kick to even the match. Headed into the half, the score would remain 1-1. Out of the halftime break, the Spartans continued to battle, but it wasn't until the 86th minute that Shayne Abrams found the back of the net for the go-ahead goal.
