BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – For the first time since 2006, the Gardner-Webb University men's soccer team had its name called during the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Selection Show. In front of an energetic crowd, the Runnin' Bulldogs learned their fate and will be traveling to Corvallis, Oregon, to take on the Beavers of Oregon State on Thursday, November 21.
After going unbeaten in conference play during the regular season, Gardner-Webb took care of Presbyterian 2-nil in the semifinals before knocking off two-time defending conference champion High Point, 2-1.
The Runnin' Bulldogs and Beavers will meet on Thursday, November 21 at 10 p.m. EST with the winner making a trip to Denver, Colo. to take on No. 3 national seed Denver.
Also in GWU's portion of the bracket is Princeton at Akron with the winner heading to Bloomington to take on the Hoosiers of Indiana.
