Big South Announces Women's Basketball Players of the Week - Nov. 25

Catherine Alben (Snellville, Ga.) has been named the Big South Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Gardner-Webb center
Maja Rohkohl (Hannover, Germany) is the Freshman of the Week for games played Nov. 18-24, it was announced today.
Alben averaged 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.5 assists in two games last week. She opened her week with a team-high 15 points, with six boards and three steals in the Bucs’ 63-59 win at Charlotte on Monday. Alben then scored a season-high 22 points, along with five caroms and three steals in CSU’s setback at Mercer on Friday. For the week, she was 13-of-29 from the field ( =44.8 percent), made four three-pointers and was 7-of-9 from the charity stripe ( =77.8).
Rohkohl had a near double-double at Charlotte last Thursday with nine points -- matching her season-high, plus eight rebounds (three offensive) in 21 minutes of action. She then helped the Runnin’ Bulldogs defeat Johnson C. Smith on Saturday with a season-high tying nine boards in just 16 minutes -- including six on the offensive glass.
