Big South Announces Men's Soccer Players of the Week - Nov. 4

Sandro Rabarivony (Auxerre, France) has been named the Big South Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Gardner-Webb goalkeeper
Alan Horrocks (Merlo, San Luis, Argentina) is the Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Oct. 28-Nov. 3, it was announced today. In addition, Presbyterian midfielder
Jonas Sundli-Hardig (Bergen, Norway) has been selected as the Freshman of the Week.
Rabarivony scored twice in the second half, including the game-winning goal, to lead Presbyterian to a 5-2 victory over Winthrop on Saturday night. The win secured the Blue Hose a spot in the Big South Tournament. With the game tied at 2, Rabarivony netted the go-ahead goal in the 69th minute and followed up with a second in the 78th minute. His two goals came on two shots.
Horrocks recorded a season-high six saves to secure Gardner-Webb’s 1-0 shutout victory over No. 11 High Point, making the Runnin’ Bulldogs the first team to defeat the Panthers in Big South play since 2019. Horrocks made three saves in each half, including a crucial stop in the 87th minute to preserve the lead. Earlier in the week, the junior made three saves in a 1-1 draw with UNC Asheville, bringing his combined total to nine saves on 27 shots faced and a .900 save percentage.
Sundli-Hardig recorded a career-high three assists in Presbyterian's 5-2 win at Winthrop this past Saturday night. He set up the game’s opening goal in the 4th minute, followed by the game-winner in the 69th minute. His third assist came on Presbyterian’s fourth goal in the 78th minute, as the Blue Hose picked up the three points they needed to clinch a spot in the Big South Tournament.
