High Point Tops Annual Preseason Women's Indoor Track & Field Poll
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Two-time defending Big South Champion
High Point University has been voted the top team in the annual Big South Conference Women’s Indoor Track & Field preseason poll, as voted by the league’s head coaches and announced this afternoon by the conference office. The Panthers received six of the seven first-place votes and 48 points to repeat as conference champions in 2024-25.
Charleston Southern was second to High Point with 43 points and received the remaining first-place vote.
Gardner-Webb placed third in the balloting with 31 points, ahead of
Radford (25 points).
UNC Asheville was fifth in the preseason ranking with 24 points, while
USC Upstate was sixth with 14 points.
Winthrop landed in the seventh and final spot in the polling with 11 points.
The 2024-25 women’s indoor track & field season begins this weekend (Dec. 5-8), and concludes with the 2025 Big South Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship, Feb. 28-March 1 at the Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex in Columbia, S.C.
