Carlé Botha has achieved a remarkable milestone, earning a national singles ranking of No. 112 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings. Botha stands out as the only player from the Big South Conference to receive this honor, underscoring her exceptional talent and strong performances against top competition. This recognition highlights Botha's hard work and dedication as she continues to raise the profile of Charleston Southern tennis on the national stage in just her first season of collegiate tennis.
Botha's fall season has been nothing short of dominant, as she went a perfect 5-0 in singles play. Her impressive run included victories over players from several strong programs: 6-1, 6-3 over Huff (College of Charleston), 6-7, 6-0, 10-4 over Sorensen (Charleston Southern), 6-2, 6-3 over Patel (Jacksonville State), 6-0, 6-1 against Limane (Marshall), and 6-0, 4-6, 10-4 over Theodore (Samford). Botha's ability to adapt and perform under pressure, especially in tiebreak scenarios, demonstrates her skill and mental toughness as she gears up for the spring season.
