Jewel Ash (Voorhees, N.J.) was selected as the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while High Point pole vaulter
Auriane Viola (Schiltigheim, France) earned Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honors. USC Upstate’s
Jayla Gilbert is the Women’s Freshman of the Week.
Ash ran a 59.93 to finish second in the 400m hurdles at the Weems Baskin Invitational. That time is the fastest in the Big South this season.
Viola cleared 4.01m in the pole vault – the best mark in the Big South this season – to place third at the Bob Davidson Team Challenge.
Gilbert secured fourth in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 13.63m at Weems Baskin Invitational. She also finished seventh in the hammer with a throw of 46.88m.
