Longwood, Mercer and Furman each improved to 2-0 in conference games with wins on Saturday, while Radford picked up its first league victory of the season.

Longwood lacrosse got off to a slow start on Saturday afternoon against Presbyterian, but Claire Libby led the charge back. The graduate student rifled home a season-high four goals, and Longwood (4-6, 2-0 Big South) won 16-13 by winning each of the final three quarters to stay unbeaten in Big South play. Presbyterian (1-9, 0-2 Big South) rocketed out of the gates and jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead behind two goals form Abby Edmisten. However, Libby's experience helped steady the Lancers. She scored the team's first two goals to keep Longwood hanging around, and the defense kicked into gear in the second quarter.

Kayla Soltys and Sami Lowinger combined to score eight of Mercer's 13 goals as the Bears defeated High Point, 13-10 on Saturday afternoon in High Point, North Carolina. With the win, Mercer improves to 2-0 in Big South games. Shots in the game were 31-30 in favor of the Bears. The draw controls were also close with Mercer holding a 14-13 edge. Soltys and Lowinger each had four goals on the day to lead Mercer. Maddi Koury had a six-point game with one goal and five assists. Abby Morrison led Mercer with six draw controls. Defensively, Abby Soltys had an excellent game for the Bears with a team best six ground balls and two caused turnovers. Kate Vanderlinde had 13 saves in goal.
FURMAN 21, GARDNER-WEBB 9 |

Sophia Buzelis tied her career high with five goals Saturday, leading four Paladins with hat tricks, to help the Furman women's lacrosse team to a 21-9 Big South Conference win over the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs at Spangler Stadium. Furman remains undefeated in the Big South, improving to 4-7 overall and 2-0 in conference play. With the loss, Gardner-Webb drops to 0-11 on the season and 0-2 against Big South opponents. Buzelis netted her first hat trick of the year in the first quarter as the Paladins closed out the opening period with four consecutive goals to lead 7-3. Furman continued its run into the second quarter, scoring three straight times to extend its advantage to 10-3 just over five minutes into the period.
RADFORD 11, WINTHROP 8 |

Radford women's lacrosse defeated Winthrop as hat tricks from Kaitlyn Lytton and Molly O'Brien pushed the Highlanders to the 11-8 victory Saturday afternoon. With less than 30 seconds into the game, Lytton would score the opening goal to give the Highlanders the early lead. Immediately following the score, Mady Cheney won the draw control and allowing Ashlyn Grogan to feed the ball to Margaret Gleason to score next, giving Radford a 2-0 edge. The Highlanders did not slow down as they went on a 5-0 run with efforts from O'Brien (2) and McKenzie Hines, shutting out the Eagles in the first quarter.
