High Point's Sydney Horn Finishes Third in Pole Vault at National Championships

BRIGHTON, Mass. – High Point University women's pole vaulter Sydney Horn traveled up to Massachusetts to compete in her fourth consecutive NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship on Friday evening at the TRACK at the New Balance facility. Horn placed third overall, making it her second highest placement at the indoor championships over the past four years. She was awarded her seventh consecutive All-American honor.

Kicking things off at 6:00 p.m., Horn was the sixth jumper on the evening. In her first and second attempts of the day, she cleared 4.15m and 4.30m.
 
Moving up to the 4.40m bar, she cleared it on her second attempt to move on to the next bar.

Horn finished the night clearing a 4.45m bar to earn a spot on the podium in third place along with Rutger's Chloe Timberg. She was strategically passing heights at the final bars in order to compete the championship at 4.55m and 4.60m.
