Big South Women's Lacrosse Recap - April 13
Mercer moved into sole possession of first-place with a victory over Longwood. Presbyterian picked up its first Big South win of the year on Saturday as well, and High Point won its fourth-straight contest. Furman downed Winthrop to create a three-way tie for second-place.

Mercer outscored Longwood 17-4 in the second half on its way to a 26-11 win at home on Saturday afternoon from Five Star Stadium. Mercer's 26 goals tied the single-game program record set in 2017 against Delaware State. It was a balanced attack for the Bears as Mercer had 12 different goal scorers in the game. Not only was Mercer's 26 goals a season high but the Bears also had a season high 13 assists for a season high 39 points. Shots on goal were 34-15 in favor of Mercer. The Bears were also excellent in the draw circle winning a season high 28 draws to Longwood's 12. Four different players scored at least three goals in the game, led by Gabby DiVirgilio and Caroline Glus who each had four goals. Ansley Walters and Kayla Soltys each had three goals a piece. Maddi Koury led all players with four assists to go with two goals for a 6-point game.

Pitching a total first-half shutout for the first time in school history en route to perhaps their greatest-ever defensive performance within a Big South setting, the Presbyterian College lacrosse team soared past Gardner-Webb on Saturday with a 12-4 road victory, their first league win of 2024. Ending the divisional duel at plus-10 in draws and plus-12 in shot attempts, the Blue Hose didn't let a single free-position opportunity lead to a goal for the second match in a row, propelled to the W behind a career-best six scores by senior Kylie Sullivan.

The High Point University women's lacrosse team capped a special day with another 20-goal outing as the Panthers rolled past Radford University Saturday, 20-10. The Panthers opened the morning with their 12th annual Mason 5K, supporting the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation followed by a "Senior Day" ceremony that honored six seniors. Kay Rosselli, Sami MacDonald, Logan Tingley, Mary Sosebee, Aryss Lindsey and Pia Cavallaro made up the senior class. All six started and helped HPU stay undefeated against the Highlanders en route to its fourth straight win this season and ninth versus Radford.

Furman's Hannah Dintino became the school's all-time leading goal scorer on Saturday after combining with Anna Roser and Sophie Shaw to lift the Furman women's lacrosse team to a 16-9 Big South Conference victory over the Winthrop Eagles at Eagle Field. Furman, who has now won five straight in the series over Winthrop, improves to 6-8 overall and 4-1 in the Big South. Winthrop drops to 1-12 on the season and 1-5 in conference play. The trio of Roser, Dintino, and Shaw combined for 13 of the Paladins' 16 goals on the afternoon led by Roser's game high five. Dintino and Shaw both scored four while Shaw added an assist.
