USC Upstate Wraps Up Round Two of National Golf Invitational

MARICOPA, Ariz -- Praew Nontarux shoots an even-par 72 to lead the USC Upstate Spartans in the second round of the National Golf Invitational at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz. on Saturday, May 11.
Nontarux, a senior from Lampang, Thailand climbed 16 spots to tie for 16th place. The decorated Spartan golfer made a quick start by birdying her first hole, a par 4, and also birdied her seventh hole. Additionally, she is tied for fifth in pars for the tournament.
As a team, the Spartans are currently in 9th place after the second round. Freshman Supatta Putttanavarat posted a 3-over 75, putting her in a tie for 23rd. Sophomore Rylie Kosney shot an 81 (+9), slipping out of the top ten in the tournament. Teammates Alexis Rieli and Suwarin Yord-in are both at +11 through two rounds.
Sunday's third round will see the Spartans tee-off between 7:30 and 8:06 am MST.
