Winthrop Begins Play in NCAA Rancho Santa Fe Regional

RANCHO SANTE FE, Calif. — The Winthrop men's golf team opened play at the NCAA Rancho Santa Fe Regional on Monday.
Freshman Ashton Eubanks led the Eagles with an opening round 73 (+3) as he sits T31. Logan Lutz and Mason Tucker were next with a 77 (+7) followed by Nick Mayfield at 78. Mayfield and Eubanks led the Eagles in Par 3 scoring (+1).
Eubanks also led in Par 4 scoring (+1) while Lutz leads the way in Par 5 scoring (-1). Lutz is tied for the second-lowest Par 5 scoring among the field
The Eagles and the rest of the field will compete in the second round of the NCAA Regional on Tuesday, May 14. Winthrop will begin teeing off at 9:50 a.m. (PST) off the first tee.
