ITA Honors 44 Tennis Student-Athletes for 2023-24 Academics
A total of 44 Big South student-athletes have been named ITA Scholar-Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), while 10 combined women's and men's programs received ITA All-Academic Team recognition, the organization announced recently.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements: 1) have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 2) be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements: 1) have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
Big South women's tennis had five team honorees and 27 individuals recognized. On the men's side, all five programs were honored with 17 individual scholar winners. A complete list of the Big South's honorees appears below:
