First Citizens Bank Sponsoring 3-Point Donation Drive for Hurricane Relief
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The
Big South Conference announced today that corporate partner
First Citizens Bank will continue its initiative of donating $1 for every 3-point field goal made during the 2024-25 men’s and women’s basketball regular-season and conference championships, with all proceeds donated toward the Big South’s ongoing Hurricane Helene relief efforts.
“As a bank with a strong presence in the Southeast, we have seen firsthand how the hurricane last Fall has still affected individuals and communities within the region,” said
Andy Shene, Area Executive at First Citizens Bank. “We are committed to supporting our community as they rebuild, and are proud to once again sponsor the 3-point donation, this time to drive direct support towards hurricane relief efforts.”

This is the fifth year of First Citizen’s 3-point donation drive with the Big South, which has raised a total of $19,000 since its inception. In addition to First Citizens’ support, Big South fans can join in aiding communities impacted by Hurricane Helene by purchasing “Big South Strong” t-shirts during the conference’s Basketball Trophy Tour at each campus during the season. Supporters can also donate directly by utilizing a QR code available in the image above, as well as displayed during contests. All proceeds will be donated to local organizations assisting those affected in the region, including but not limited to
BeLoved Asheville, the
United Way of Southwest Virginia, and the
YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly.
