Every home team was victorious in Thursday's Big South openers, as Presbyterian defeated Longwood, Charleston Southern downed Gardner-Webb, Winthrop knocked off USC Upstate and High Point defeated Radford on ESPNU.

PRESBYTERIAN 68, LONGWOOD 60 | BOX SCORE
Behind three double-figure scorers and a strong rebounding effort, the Presbyterian Blue Hose (8-8, Big South: 1-0) gutted out a win over the defending Big South Champion Longwood Lancers (11-5, Big South: 0-1), 68-60, in their Big South Conference opener at the Templeton Center on Thursday afternoon.
 
CHARLESTON SOUTHERN 72, GARDNER-WEBB 63 | BOX SCORE
Bucs' team captain and senior guard DJ Patrick returned from a season-long injury to lead CSU in scoring with 19 (14 in the first half) and hauled in 7 rebounds.
 
WINTHROP 95, USC UPSTATE 76 | BOX SCORE
Winthrop used a 25-0 second half run to pull away for a 95-76 victory over USC Upstate, Thursday evening in the Big South Conference opener for both teams.
 
HIGH POINT 76, RADFORD 58 | BOX SCORE
High Point University men's basketball opened the 2024-25 Big South Conference season on live television against Radford University on Thursday night inside the Qubein Center. Stretching out to a large lead, the Panthers made a statement early and pressed on for a 76-58 win over the Highlanders.
