Big South Announces Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Jan. 6

Jordan Marsh (Charlotte, N.C.) has been named the Big South Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Radford guard
Zion Walker (Burlington, N.C.) is the Freshman of the Week for games played Dec. 28-Jan. 5, it was announced today.
Marsh averaged 24.5 points, 6.0 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals while making 61.3 percent from the field (19-of-31) in two wins last week. He scored 20 points and dished out four helpers in last Monday’s win over Columbia International, then poured in a career-high 29 points along with eight assists and four boards in the Bulldogs’ 103-99 victory over High Point on Saturday. Marsh was 9-of-12 from the charity stripe on Saturday, and added a block and steal in Asheville’s conference-opening win.
Walker turned in 20.5 points, 3.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds for the Highlanders last week. He opened with 11 points, three assists and two rebounds in just 14 minutes off the bench at High Point on Jan. 2. Walker then dropped in a career-high 30 points in Saturday’s win over Winthrop, along with four assists and four rebounds. He became just the second freshman in school history to score 30 points in a game and the first since 1994-95. For the week, Walker was 12-of-18 from the floor ( =66.7 percent), made 2-of-4 three-pointers and was 15-of-17 from the charity stripe ( =88.2) in 42 minutes played.
