Big South Announces Men's Cross Country Runners of the Week - Oct. 16

Jude Rutherford (Mint Hill, N.C.) has been named the Big South Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, while teammate
Sam Gearheart (Clinton, S.C..) is the Men’s Freshman of the Week for meets ran Oct. 9-12, it was announced today.
Rutherford broke the school’s 8K record with a time of 26:08.46 at the Royals Cross Country Challenge last week. He bettered the previous mark by 12 seconds, which was set in 2017.
Gearheart ran a 27:07.93 at the Royals Cross Country Challenge. He was PC’s third-best finisher, and his time ranks as the program’s 13th-fastest 8K during its Division I era.
