Seedings and Pairings Announced for 2025 Big South Women's Soccer Championship
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – For the second time in three seasons,
Radford University is the Big South Conference Women’s Soccer outright regular-season champion, and will be the No. 1 seed in next week’s conference tournament, it was determined following the conclusion of the league season this evening. The top six teams in the final standings qualify for the league’s postseason championship. First round matches will be held on campus on Saturday, Nov. 1, with the Semifinals (Nov. 6) and Finals (Nov. 9) contested at the SportsPlex in Matthews, N.C.
The Highlanders are the No. 1 seed for the sixth time after finishing the 2025 conference season with 21 points (7-1-0 record) for their Big South-record seventh outright/shared regular-season title, and will seek their 10th Big South Conference Tournament crown.
USC Upstate, last year’s champion, was second in the league standings with 18 points (6-2-0), and will be the No. 2 seed. Both squads receive byes into the Semifinals.
Longwood is the No. 3 seed (15 points, 5-3-0 Big South record) -- its highest seeding since 2021, and will host No. 6
Charleston Southern (10 points, 3-4-1) in a first round match on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7:00pm. The Longwood/Charleston Southern winner will face No. 2 USC Upstate Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7:00pm.
High Point and
Gardner-Webb tied for fourth in the Big South standings at 3-3-2 (11 points), and the Panthers received the No. 4 seed based on their 3-0 head-to-head victory over the Runnin’ Bulldogs this past Saturday. HPU will host No. 5-seeded GWU in a first round match on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 4:00pm, and the winner will advance to face top-seeded Radford on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 4:00pm.
The 2025 Big South Women’s Soccer Championship will be played at higher seeds for the First Round before moving to the Matthews Sportsplex in Matthews, N.C., for the Semifinals and Finals. All five matches of the tournament will be broadcast on ESPN+, and the Big South’s tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship.
