Big South Announces Women's Golfers of the Week - Oct. 9

Eva Lye (Naples, Fla.) has been named the Big South Women’s Golfer of the Week, while teammate
Makayla Grubb (Stafford, Va.) is the Women’s Freshman of the Week for events played Oct. 2-8, it was announced today.
Lye tied for third at the Pirate Collegiate Classic (par 72, 5,944 yards) with a 6-under par 210 (72-70-68) for her highest collegiate finish. She was the top finisher among the 23 Big South competitors in the event, and led the 87-player field with 16 birdies. Lye ranked second overall in par-4 scoring (-3) and was also 3-under on the par-5 holes.
Grubb tied for fifth at the Pirate Collegiate Classic with a 5-under par 211 (69-72-70) for her conference-leading third Top 10 finish of the season. She tied for second in par-3 scoring at 2.83 (-2), tied for sixth on the par-4 layouts and was 5-under on the par-5 holes. Grubb had 11 birdies across her 54 holes, and helped the Panthers to a runner-up finish in the 15-team field.
Both players earned spots on the All-Tournament Team.
