Big South Announces Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Nov. 10

Cam’Ron Fletcher (St. Louis, Mo.) has been named the Big South Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Gardner-Webb guard
Spence Sims (Fairhope, Ala.) is the Freshman of the Week honoree for games played the opening week of the regular-season, it was announced today.
Fletcher averaged 18.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 blocked shots and 1.0 steals in helping the Panthers open the season 2-0. He recorded an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double in HPU’s season-opening win over Furman last Monday, in which he also had three assists, one block and one steal. On Saturday, Fletcher scored a career-high 25 points, and grabbed nine boards along with two blocks and a takeaway against Averett. For the week, he was 15-of-23 from the field ( =65.2 percent).
Sims averaged 11.5 points off the bench and was 7-of-12 from three-point range in contests at Minnesota and Clemson. He opened the season with 12 points and four three-pointers vs. the Golden Gophers to finish as GWU’s second-leading scorer. Sims then shared the team-high with 11 points against the Tigers, was 3-of-5 from long distance and 4-of-6 from the field overall.
