CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions during the opening weekend of the 2025-26 season.

High Point’s Brianna Malone (Barrington, N.H.) was selected the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while teammate Zamesha Myle (Kingstown, St. Vincent) earned Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honors.  Radford’s Jaelynn Joiner (Richmond, Va.) was named the Freshman of the Week.

Malone finished seventh in the 3,000m run at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at Boston University with a time of 9:11.64 -- just two seconds shy of her own Big South Conference record.  She finished ahead of runners from Villanova, Yale, Washington and N.C. State, and her time ranks 22nd in the nation.

Myle won the triple jump at the Liberty Kickoff with a school-record effort of 13.04m.  It is the third-best mark in conference history, and ranks third in the nation this year.

Joiner finished fourth in the long jump at the Liberty Kickoff with a leap of 5.90m, which is second all-time in program history as well as eighth-best in league annals.  In addition, she was part of Radford’s winning 4x400m squad with a second-leg split time of 58.639 seconds.  Joiner also ran the 300m and finished 14th with a time of 40.96.
