Big South Announces Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Feb. 10

Juslin Bodo Bodo (Yaounde, Cameroon) has been named the Big South Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while USC Upstate guard
Carmelo Adkins (Lubbock, Texas) is the Freshman of the Week honoree for games played Feb. 3-9, it was announced today.
Bodo Bodo averaged 14.0 points, 14.5 rebounds, 6.0 offensive rebounds, 2.0 blocked shots and 73.3 percent from the field (11-of-15) in helping the Panthers win two games and move into first-place in the Big South standings. He had a near double-double of nine points and eight boards, in addition to three blocks, in the Panthers’ three-point road win at Radford last Wednesday. Bodo Bodo then turned in career highs of 19 points on 8-of-11 from the field, along with 21 rebounds (eight offensive) in HPU’s 104-100 overtime victory over UNC Asheville on Saturday. It was the Big South’s first 20-rebound game since 2017.
Adkins averaged 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in two games last week. He first led the Spartans with 17 points along with a career-high four steals last Wednesday at Presbyterian. Adkins then tallied a 17-point, 11-rebound double-double Saturday vs. Winthrop, along with four assists and five 3-pointers. For the week, Adkins was 12-of-24 from the field ( =50.0) and 8-of-17 from beyond the arc ( =47.1).
