Big South Announces Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - Feb. 27
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions during the weekend of Feb. 20-23.
Radford’s
Sienna Bailey (Collinsville, Va.) was selected the Women’s Track Athlete and Freshman of the Week, while High Point’s
Sydney Horn (Lancaster, Pa.) earned Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Bailey won the women's mile at the Virginia Tech Challenge in a personal-best time of 4:50.65, which is the ninth-fastest in Big South history, as well as the second-best time in the conference this season.
Horn broke her program- and Big South-record in the pole vault at the Virginia Tech Challenge with a record clearance of 4.57m, eclipsing her previous mark of 4.51m. She clinched her fifth pole vault victory this year, and she now ranks tied for seventh nationally in the event.
