High Point Leads 2025 Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships After Day 1

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- High Point University leads the 2025 Big South Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship following the first day of competition, as the Panthers won the high jump, DMR and 5,000m run as part of its 83 points on Friday.  Charleston Southern is second with 60 points after six scored events, followed by Gardner-Webb in third-place (29), USC Upstate in fourth (19), Radford in fifth (18), Winthrop in sixth (14) and UNC Asheville in seventh (7).

Charleston Southern's Chloe Greene won two golds on Friday -- the pentathlon with a Championship Meet record 3,725 points, as well as the long jump (5.83m).  She is the first three-time pentathlon champion in Big South history.  High Point's Alyssa Hendrix was the victor in the 5,000m run with a record time of 16:27.66, and teammate Ashari Pearson claimed the high jump title with a height of 1.67.  The Panthers' Distance Medley Relay team of Alice Jones, Nikki Frail, Mikayla Moxley and Shauna Skow crossed the line first in a time of 11:56.63.  Winthrop's Johntavia Shaw was the shot put winner (13.91m), becoming the first Eagle to win the event since 2010.
