High Point Voted Favorite in Annual Preseason Men's Outdoor Track & Field Poll
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Four-time defending Big South Champion
High Point University has been unanimously voted the favorite in the annual Big South Conference Men’s Outdoor Track & Field preseason poll by the league’s head coaches, the conference office announced Thursday afternoon. The Panthers received all seven first-place votes and 49 points to repeat as champion this season.
Charleston Southern finished second in the polling with 41 points, as the Bucs received six of the seven second-place votes.
USC Upstate claimed third with 32 points, while
UNC Asheville was fourth in the voting with 29 points.
Gardner-Webb was fifth in the preseason standings with 21 points, followed by
Winthrop in sixth (16 points) and second-year outdoor track & field program
Longwood in the seventh and final position at eight points.
The 2025 men’s outdoor track & field season begins this weekend, March 14-16, and concludes with the 2025 Big South Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship, May 12-14 at the Karl Straus Track on the campus of UNC Asheville in Asheville, N.C.
