High Point Tops Annual Preseason Women's Outdoor Track & Field Poll
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Four-time defending champion
High Point University has been unanimously voted the top team in the annual Big South Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field preseason poll, as voted by the league’s head coaches and announced Thursday afternoon by the conference office. The Panthers received all eight first-place votes and 64 points to repeat as champion this season.
Charleston Southern was second to High Point with 56 points, as the Bucs received all eight second-place votes.
Gardner-Webb landed in the third position with 45 points, and
Radford claimed fourth with 42 points.
USC Upstate finished fifth in the polling with 28 points, followed by
UNC Asheville in sixth (26 points) and
Winthrop in seventh (16 points). Second-year outdoor track & field program
Longwood received the eighth and final spot (11 points).
The 2025 women’s outdoor track & field season begins this weekend, March 14-16, and concludes with the 2025 Big South Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship, May 12-14 at the Karl Straus Track on the campus of UNC Asheville in Asheville, N.C.
