CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com– Mercer junior attacker Caroline Glus (Hershey, Pa.) has been named the Big South Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while the Bears’ graduate goalie Kayla Casey (Cumming, Ga.) is the Defensive Player of the Week for games played March 10-16, it was announced today. In addition, Winthrop midfielder Christina Warren (Canton, Ga.) has been named the Freshman of the Week.

Glus delivered a standout week, totaling four goals and an assist in Mercer’s 11-10 upset of No. 9 Clemson—the program’s first-ever win over a ranked opponent and just the third in Big South history, and first since 2018. She followed with another four-goal performance against No. 6 Florida, finishing the week with nine points against two top-10 teams. The senior fueled Mercer’s fast start against Clemson, scoring four consecutive goals in a seven-minute span to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 5-2 lead. She later assisted on a third-quarter goal to make it 8-4, marking her fifth point of the game and setting a new season high. Glus then matched that performance with her third straight four-goal outing against Florida, reaching her 100th career point in the process. She capped the week with a .727 shot percentage and converted all three of her free-position opportunities.

Casey set career highs with 12 saves and a .545 save percentage while holding No. 9 Clemson to just 10 goals in Mercer’s historic 11-10 upset on Tuesday. She made seven second-half saves to protect the Bears’ lead, including three in the final quarter—the last coming with 1:24 remaining to preserve the one-goal advantage. The graduate goalkeeper faced 30 shots against the Tigers and played all 60 minutes in goal. Later in the week, Casey added seven saves in 45 minutes of action against No. 6 Florida

In her first career start, Warren scored a game-high seven goals to lead Winthrop to an 18-17 comeback win over Merrimack. She converted all four free-position attempts and added one ground ball and one caused turnover. Warren scored twice in the first half, added another in the third quarter, and netted four in the fourth, including the game-tying goal with 58 seconds remaining to force overtime. She scored on seven of her 10 shots, nine of which went on target.
