Big South Announces Men's Basketball Players of the Week - March 2

Bryce Baker (Mooresville, N.C.) has been named the Big South Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while USC Upstate guard
Mister Dean (Miami, Fla.) is the Freshman of the Week honoree for games played the final week of the regular-season, it was announced today.
Baker, who entered the week averaging just over 6.0 points per game, averaged 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in two wins off the bench for the Eagles. He also made 11-of-17 three-point field goals ( =64.7 percent) and handed out 1.5 assists. Baker opened his week with 23 points in 23 minutes, and was 7-of-10 from beyond the arc with two rebounds and two steals in Winthrop’s win at Longwood Thursday. He then tallied 13 points, six boards and two helpers while making four three-pointers in Saturday’s home victory over UNC Asheville.
Dean averaged 14.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in two games last week. He first scored 11 points along with six rebounds, four steals and one blocked shot last Wednesday at High Point. Dean followed with a team-high 17 points in just 18 minutes Saturday at home vs. Longwood, in addition to eight boards, two steals and a block. For the week, he was 11-of-22 from the field ( =50.0 percent).
