Big South Announces Women's Basketball Players of the Week - March 2

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com– Presbyterian College forward Kishyah Anderson (Gilbert, Ariz.) has been named the Big South Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Gardner-Webb guard Kendall Scott (Fredericksburg, Va.) is the Freshman of the Week for games played the final week of the regular-season, it was announced today.
 
Anderson scored 40 points Saturday at Gardner-Webb and averaged 33.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals for the week. She shot 56.0 percent from the field (28-of-50) and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line (10-of-12). The junior went 10-for-18 with 27 points, five rebounds, three blocks and three steals Wednesday against UNC Asheville. She then broke Presbyterian’s program record and set a career high with 40 points on 18-of-32 shooting at GWU with all but one basket coming from inside the arc. It’s the second-most points scored in the Big South this season. 
 
Scott scored a career-high 25 points against Presbyterian and averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal for the week. She shot 54.2 percent from the field (13-of-24) and 76.9 percent from the free-throw line (10-of-13). The freshman scored 12 points with five rebounds and a steal Wednesday at Radford, before following up with a game-high 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting in Gardner-Webb’s 91-81 victory over the Blue Hose in Saturday’s regular-season finale. It was Scott’s first 20-plus point scoring performance of her career.
